Publication Day Desk
The Good Time, Nell Stevens’ first collection of short stories, is published today by Scribner!
In the 11 years I have been working with Nell she has been writing consistently excellent short stories. Given the very small number of UK publications for short stories they haven’t had nearly enough limelight, so it’s wonderful that Scribner are publishing this fantastic collection and making them easy to enjoy all in one go, or one by one as delicious treats. Thank you to Nell’s editor, Sophie Missing!
As per RCL tradition, because we love asking our authors to show us where they write, we are sharing a picture of Nell’s beautiful writing desk.
Nell will be talking about the collection with Eley Williams at 7pm this evening, Thursday 13 August, at Daunt Books Summertown. You can book a ticket here, or in the shop.
She’s also appearing at the Edinburgh International Book Festival on Saturday 22 August, from 1:30-2:30pm. She and Lucy Caldwell (author of Openings and These Days) will both be discussing their new story collections, talking stories of love, grief, haunted lives, emotional crossroads, and irresistible humour with Di Speirs.
