Making books happen

A book begins in the individual mind of its author but needs successful collaboration with many people to reach the minds of its readers.

Rebecca Carter Literary was set up in 2023 to be an agency with successful collaboration at its heart – with authors, with publishers around the world, with Film & TV producers, and with readers.

Rebecca represents an inspiring group of international fiction and non-fiction authors, and is actively seeking to work with new writers, whether it be on a first book or on developing their career.

She works in association the team at PEW Literary, set up by Patrick Walsh in 2016, for contracts and translation rights.

Rebecca Carter Literary represents writers of Fiction and Non-Fiction, where quality of writing is key: books that speak to the current moment but will also be read for years to come.

In Fiction, the focus is on Literary Fiction and Crime & Thriller.

In Non-Fiction, the range of styles and subjects is wide, from creative non-fiction to more straightforward narrative non-fiction, from innovative history and biography to books on science, nature and the environment, culture and politics. The writer can be an expert in their field, or someone on a quest to find out more about their subject, or to enthuse the reader with their ideas.

With a few exceptions for existing clients, Rebecca doesn’t represent YA, Children’s, Poetry or Illustrated books, or Screenwriting.
