Emily Woof is an author, playwright and performer, who has worked as a film actress for many years (The Full Monty, Velvet Goldmine, Mothering Sunday...) Current projects for 2024 include Blizzard, a surreal piece of story-telling which transfers to London and New York, and a new full-length play, For Goodness Sake, which will open at Soho Theatre Main House in the autumn. She is also co-writing Lisa and Andy, a half-hour comedy for actor Toby Jones commissioned by CBS.

She has published two novels with Faber and Faber, The Whole Wide Beauty and The Lightning Tree, and has just finished a new dystopian novel called Ecstatic.

Her work often explores the meeting point of movement, narrative and ideas with direct emotional force and comedy.
